According to the safety campaign, criminals often target properties where gate motors are easy to access.
Residents are encouraged to ensure their properties are well lit at night, making it more difficult for thieves to operate unnoticed.
The CPF also recommends installing security lights fitted with motion sensors and securing gate motors inside lockable steel cages to make them harder to steal.
Residents are reminded to report any suspicious activity immediately to the relevant authorities or their local CPF, as early reporting can help prevent crime and improve response times.
