3 stolen vehicles recovered within 20 minutes in southern Johannesburg operation
Fox Tactical and CPF Sector 1 worked together to track and recover three stolen vehicles in Glenvista, Mondeor and Mulbarton on Thursday.
Three stolen vehicles were recovered within approximately 20 minutes during a coordinated operation in Glenvista, Mondeor and Mulbarton on Thursday.
The operation was triggered by alerts from a licence plate recognition (LPR) system, which detected a wanted vehicle travelling through the Glenvista area.
Fox Tactical, working closely with CPF Sector 1, responded to the alert and located the vehicle within minutes.
Two more vehicles detected
Shortly afterwards, another stolen vehicle entered the Mondeor area, prompting Fox Tactical members to respond.

The members tracked the vehicle and successfully located it.
While members were still dealing with the first two vehicles, a third stolen vehicle entered the Mulbarton area.
Fox Tactical members, together with CPF Sector 1, immediately mobilised and tracked the vehicle, locating it within minutes.
Rapid response leads to three recoveries
Francois Jansen, operations director at Fox Security, said the successful operation demonstrated the importance of rapid communication and coordination between security and community structures.
“The operation unfolded very quickly, with all three vehicles being located within approximately 20 minutes,” said Jansen.
He said the use of LPR technology, combined with the quick response from members on the ground, played an important role in the recoveries.
The operation highlights the role of collaboration between private security and community policing structures in responding to alerts involving stolen vehicles.
The circumstances surrounding the vehicles and any further action remain subject to the relevant authorities’ processes.
