Enrique da Silva case moves forward as suspect appears in Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court
The suspect's first appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court has seen the case transferred to DC1 after the investigation into the fatal Alberton crash was completed.
The case involving the death of Alberton motorcyclist Enrique Robbertze da Silva has moved to a new court following the first appearance of a suspect in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
Da Silva died following a collision between his motorcycle and a Volkswagen Polo near Kota Joe Roadhouse on May 2, 2025.

The matter was heard in the DC2 court on September 11, following months of investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The case has been transferred to DC1, where the suspect is expected to appear again on September 30.
The state prosecutor confirmed that the investigation is complete.
The court appearance follows concerns raised by Da Silva’s family regarding delays in the investigation.
His mother, Mandy da Silva, has followed proceedings closely and previously called for clarity on the handling of the case.
The transfer of the matter to DC1 marks a new stage as the case proceeds through the court.
