Join Alberton’s community charity walk
Come enjoy a day out in the sun during a community charity walk to take place at Meyer’s Farm, Fore Street on June 16 starting from 09h00.

Be part of a community charity walk this Youth Day at Meyer’s Farm, Fore Street, on June 16, starting from 09:00, in support of local charities.
This is the second year of the community walk as organised by Beverly van Zyl of the Alberton Methodist Church.
In the previous year, the walk was well supported by the local and extended community for which organisers are most grateful.
“This initiative not only serves the community but also doubles as a welcome fundraiser for some non-profit organisations such as Young at Hearts, Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer, Cause 4 Paws, Place of Purpose and Amcare.
“A cost of R100 per person to take part in the walk (free entry for children under 13), includes a breakfast bun and refreshment,” explained Gwen McKechnie, CEO at Place of Purpose.
She said participants get to choose the beneficiary to whom the proceeds are allocated.
“For more information and registration, contact or WhatsApp me during office hours on 082 377 2027, alternatively contact Beverly on 082 443 8829. Come and meet the staff and students of Place of Purpose where we cater for young adults with intellectual disabilities,” McKechnie said.
