EMPD Security and Loss Control members honoured for long service

The EMPD honoured at least 44 members at the Alberton Civic Centre.

The EMPD Security and Loss Control Division had an award ceremony on December 1.

Forty-four security personnel were acknowledged for long service, and two retiring members were bade farewell.

EMPD spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa said it is the first time in a while that a ceremony of this magnitude was held at the Alberton Civic Centre.

“The municipal police commissioner, Chief Jabulani Isaac Mapiyeye, honoured and thanked the EMPD security personnel for their dedication and hard work. Two retiring members, who have been in service for 39 and 41 years, were also honoured,” she explained.

She said an event similar to this one is scheduled soon.
