SOG security needs your help to ID man

SOG Security seeks the public’s help.

A pedestrian alerted a Special Operations Group (SOG) security patrol vehicle to a grim discovery off Voortrekker Road, near the N12 on/off ramp.

The response officer was notified and told there was a body in the field next to the road.

Paramedics were immediately notified and confirmed the person’s death. The Alberton SAPS and other emergency services also arrived to investigate.

The deceased, an unidentified black male of about 40 years, was found neatly dressed. He wore shoes and a watch. There was no wallet or identification found on him.

According to preliminary evaluations, the person might have died from a serious attack, most likely from blunt force injuries.

A postmortem examination will determine the exact cause of death.

SOG Security urges anyone with information about the man’s identity or the circumstances around the incident to come forward.

The investigating officer and SOG Security are in communication with each other.

For those with information, call the SOG control room on 011 907 1111 or WhatsApp 082 291 1911.
