Kliprivier SAPS, spiritual leaders meet

The Kliprivier SAPS held a successful board meeting and will work with the community’s spiritual leaders to help fight crime.

Sergeant Letsele from Sedibeng District Social Crime Prevention, Sergeant Ndhambi and Constable Nyongwana from Kliprivier Social Crime Prevention held a Spiritual Leaders Forum Meeting at the Kliprivier SAPS boardroom on April 17.

Lieutenant Colonel LJ Mofokeng, the station commander, welcomed the spiritual leaders and commended them on accepting the invitation. He also expressed gratitude for the male attendance because men are usually under-represented in such meetings.

The gathering’s purpose was to explain the spiritual crime prevention concept to the spiritual leaders of Kliprivier following the community policing strategy (NCPS) established in pillar three – Crime Prevention through Environmental Design – and pillar four, which focuses on public value and education.

Letsele outlined the forum’s aim, the mandate of spiritual crime prevention, and the goals they could achieve if they implemented the forum.

After the proposals, the spiritual leaders were eager to participate. Following the election, the executive committee was formed. The executive committee members are Patrick Sithole, Chammy Slabbert, Sarah Mkhize, Zacararuas Matsinhi, Laston Nyirenda, and Annah Ntshitlele.

The forum’s launch will be arranged in due course.

The spiritual leaders applauded this initiative by the SAPS and pledged to support the fight against crime.
