Contact your ward councillor to report service delivery issues
Your ward councillor’s contact number and email are publicly and freely available online; use these contacts to report issues affecting your community.
There are many pressing issues affecting community members in and around the Alberton area, and people in these areas may at times feel helpless and unsure of where to report these to.
To report burst water pipes, sewage spilling into houses and streets, illegal dumping sites, or any issue you feel strongly your first port of call should be to contact the City of Ekurhuleni via the call centre: 0860 543 000 or @CoE_Call_Centre or email call.centre@ekurhuleni.gov.za in order to get a reference number.
If this fails contact your local ward councillor for assistance.
The four main wards in the Alberton area include Wards 37, 38, 94, and 106.
If you are not sure which ward you belong to, registered voters may go to the Independent Electoral Commission’s (IEC) website www.elections.org.za
Click the ‘menu tap’, go to ‘voters’ – and under ‘voting’, scroll down to ‘Who is my ward councillor?’, enter your ID number to get who your current ward councillor is, and their contact details, then click ‘check now’ button. It should show your ID number, ward number and voting district number. Scroll to the bottom.
Depending on where you live, one of four ward councillor names will pop up: Ivan Naidoo (Ward 37 – 061 545 3372), Thavha Maifala-Masebe (Ward 38 – 061 540 4973), Samantha Nair (Ward 94 – 082 921 2856), or Mark Timothy Denny (Ward 106 – 084 468 8566).
