Stepping Stone Hospice receives donation from Alberton High

Alberton High School is calling on fellow schools and learners to help Stepping Stone Hospice expands its in-patient care facilities through a community fundraising initiative.

Alberton High School has raised R6 000 towards Stepping Stone Hospice’s Brick by Brick campaign, supporting plans to develop a 14-bed in-patient unit in Raceview.

The school, known as the Blues, has also challenged its learners and other schools in and around Alberton to support the initiative and help expand the hospice’s capacity to care for patients.

The Brick-by-Brick campaign aims to raise support for the new unit, which will help address the need for additional in-patient beds.

Stepping Stone Hospice founder and CEO Tersia Burger thanked the school’s educators and learners for their contribution and commitment to the campaign.

The school’s participation highlights the role educational institutions and local communities can play in supporting organisations that provide essential care to patients and their families.

Through the campaign, Stepping Stone Hospice is encouraging more schools and community members to get involved, with every contribution helping bring the planned facility closer to reality.
