Organisation donates R10k to Stepping Stone Hospice
East Rand Scots Lodge, a fraternal Masonic organisation, challenged other lodges in the area to pay it forward following their recent donation to Stepping Stone Hospice.
Stepping Stone Hospice and Care Centre recently received a much-needed donation from East Rand Scots Lodge.
East Rand Scots Lodge, a fraternal Masonic organisation, lent a helping hand to the entity and generously donated R10 000 on August 2.
Right worshipful master of East Rand Scots Lodge, Frank Meekings, said: “We presented this donation because we want to show that Freemasonry is active in the area. We do strive to do what we can to help people where we can. And I would like to challenge other lodges in the area to do the same.”
Tersia Burger, CEO and founder of Stepping Stone Hospice, extended her gratitude to the organisation and said this was a much-needed donation.
“Years ago, we were grateful to receive a donation of R300 000 from the same entity for our training centre. This R10 000 donation will go towards purchasing a generator for the new Martelise Meaker Children’s In-Patient Unit in Raceview,” she explained.
