Creative Academy excels with 375 awards at Alberton Eisteddfod
Annually, the Creative Academy Group’s children participate in various divisions in the Alberton Eisteddfod.
This year, the group, an impressive 375 children, took part, ranging from as young as three to Grade Six learners.
This group achieved 157 diplomas, 202 gold, 12 silver and four bronze certificates.
“Taking part in an event like this pushes children out of their comfort zones and allows them to be part of something amazing.
Having to learn a set poem develops their ability to memorise its details while challenging them to add in vocal variations and facial expressions and paint a clear picture of their poem’s meaning for their adjudicators.
“Public speaking is such a vital part of language development in the formative years, and the value of these types of events is immeasurable.
The preparatory school children expanded the scope of their potential by participating in other categories, including dancing, art, scriptural readings, sight reading, motivational speaking and the maths Olympiad.
“We are proud of all our participants for their dedication and courage.
The Creative Academy Group thanks their teachers and parents for giving the learners this opportunity and for preparing them so thoroughly, which assisted them in achieving these fantastic results, and the Alberton Eisteddfod committee for the long hours and commitment to this annual event,” said Jenna Axsel, the school’s director.
