Amcare set to host Orange Day initiative to combat GBV stigma

Amcare urges individuals and groups to join their monthly Orange Day so as to support and honour women, man and children affected by acts of GBV in our community.

In a bold move to address the critical issue of GBV in our community, Amcare is gearing up for its monthly Orange Day event.

The Orange Day will be held on November 25. The observance of this event will also serve as the organisation’s participation in the 16 Days of Activism.

This initiative not only aims to raise awareness but also seeks to empower community members to stand together against GBV and support those affected.

Orange Day, observed every month, symbolises a commitment to ending violence against women and girls.

The walk will start at Amcare’s premises from 09:00.

The NPO has long been dedicated to providing resources and services to vulnerable populations affected by GBV, as well as HIV and AIDS.

Through counselling, educational programmes and community outreach they aim to empower individuals and foster a culture of respect and understanding.

Participants are encouraged to wear orange as a symbol of support and to participate in discussions aimed at addressing the root causes of GBV.

Community involvement is crucial to the success of Orange Day.

Amcare invites everyone, families, schools, local businesses, and civic organisations to get involved.
