Five Hoërskool Alberton rugby players to go to Italy

Five rugby enthusiasts from Hoërskool Alberton are pleading with the community to make their dreams come true by helping them with donations to play in the U19 rugby tour in Italy this coming December.

In an exciting development for the local community, five talented boys from Hoërskool Alberton have been selected to represent their school and country on an upcoming U19 rugby tour in Italy this December.

The announcement has brought immense pride to the boys, their families and the school community.

The selected players, Dewald de Jager, Ewan Muller, Nathan Reichert, Nqabeyethu Zulu-Nkosi, and Herman du Preez, are thrilled to be given such a prestigious opportunity.

One of the standout players, Dewald, said it was a dream come true.

“We worked hard all season, and now we get to showcase our skills on an international stage. Travelling internationally to play rugby is something we always wanted to do,” Dewald said.

However, the excitement is tinged with a sense of urgency, as the boys and their families are now seeking financial support to make this dream a reality.

The total cost of the tour, which includes travel, accommodation, and training expenses, is significant.

The boys request the community for monetary assistance, hoping to raise the funds to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“Every bit helps. We would appreciate any support we can get,” said Nqabayethu, one of the selected players.
The school administration has expressed its pride in the boys’ accomplishments.

The school principal, Eline Jordaan, said they were thrilled for their learners.

She said the five rugby enthusiasts have represented their school exceptionally well, and this opportunity highlights their hard work and dedication to the sport.

The boys’ parents are equally enthusiastic, rallying behind their sons and encouraging the community to contribute to their fundraising efforts.

Local businesses, individuals and organisations have already begun their support, with several planning fundraisers and donation drives.

The boys hope that through community collaboration, they can gather the necessary funds to ensure they can compete in Italy and bring back not just memories, but also accolades that will lift the school’s flag even higher.

As the departure date approaches, the boys remain focused on their training and are determined to make the most of this incredible opportunity.

They invite the community to follow their journey, contribute to their cause, and support them as they aim to make their dreams come true on the rugby field in Italy.

Whoever can assist with funds, use the reference as each boy’s name e.g. R300 – Ewan Muller.
