Revival City College celebrates triumph in WITS Mathematics competition
80 Revival City College learners received certificates for their outstanding performance in the WITS Mathematics competition.
Revival City College awarded certificates to 80 learners from grades four to 10 who excelled in the WITS Mathematics competition.
The college handed out the certificates at the school assemblies on October 21 to 22.
Revival City College had 106 learners who took part in the competition. During the competition, the learners wrote a 75-minute multiple-choice test.

Notable, middle primary grades four and five; upper primary grades six and seven wrote the same test junior secondary grades eight and nine wrote the same test and senior primary Grade 10 wrote their own test.
The school principal Natalie Louw attributed the achievement as a collaborative effort. “It was a team effort. The focus on mathematics, right from Grade RR pays off.

“Revival City College emphasizes the importance of mathematics in daily life, encouraging all teachers to stress its importance,” she added.
To ensure mathematics proficiency, the college aims for a 50% pass rate in all grades.
To achieve this, weekly support classes are provided for learners scoring 60% or below in any formal assessment or test.
