Ziyakhala calls for community support in Eden Park
Ziyakhala is calling on the community to support their efforts through donations of safety equipment and volunteer participation.
Ziyakhala patrollers and residents of Eden Park Ext 5 and Eden Park West have welcomed the establishment of Ziyakhala, a community-led safety initiative aimed at combating crime and promoting a secure environment.
Founded on April 17, 2023, Ziyakhala has partnered with the Eden Park CPF and other organisations to provide critical safety services, including regular patrols to deter and respond to potential threats and emergency response systems connecting residents with essential services.
Ziyakhala’s area of operation spans Eden Park Ext 5 (Phase 2 to Phase 4) and Eden Park West (Phase 2).
Mandla Lukhele of Ziyakhala said: “Our goal is to create a safer community where residents can live without fear. We urge everyone to join us in this effort.”
The organisation’s leadership structure includes: administrator: Mpumi Mangcai – 079 095 0075, chairperson: Lehlohonolo Nkala – 060 401 5141, deputy chairperson: Dolly Chirwa – 073 517 3643, treasurer: Mapule Dhlemini – 066 108 7205 and secretary – Mandla Lukhele.
To become a member, residents are required to pay a joining fee of R100 and monthly contributions of R50.
