Meet Dante le Roux, an Alberton-based go-kart driver headed for success
Dante le Roux (9) is currently in Grade Three at Laerskool Orion and has dreams of becoming a formula one car driver.
Nine-year-old Dante le Roux is showing promising signs as a future racing sensation.
Dante lives in Alberton North, was introduced to the track at age four, and fell in love with racing ever since.
Dante is currently in Grade Three at Laerskool Orion and has dreams of becoming a Formula One car driver.
“Dante has always been passionate about racing from a young age, and we started him at the oval track in 2020 at the age of four. He always wanted to drive kiddies’ cars and ride his bike. In 2021, we moved him to the karting world and he started competing as the youngest driver in the F400 series,” said his mother, Sonia le Roux.
Dante recently won the 2024 championships, and on November 30, he will again compete at the last juniors for the year.

The 2024 championships saw him compete at 10 events in cities like Benoni, Vereeniging, Pretoria, and Pietermaritzburg. He also has more than 1 400 TikTok followers, where regular updates are posted of Dante’s races.
“We will continuously support him, as long as he shows commitment to the sport. And, we hope that by giving him a solid platform and support system, he can build himself a successful career,” added Sonia.
