Hospice marks 12 years with staff appreciation event

As the year ends, Stepping Stone Hospice calls for donations of preloved items to support their mission of providing exceptional care to those in need.

Stepping Stone Palliative & Care Services recently hosted a heartfelt ceremony to recognise and reward their staff members for their outstanding dedication and commitment to providing exceptional care to patients and families.

The event was a momentous occasion, marking the Hospice’s appreciation for their long-serving staff members.

During the ceremony, staff members who have served the Hospice for 10 years or more received Appreciation Certificates.

The certificates were presented by CEO Tersia Burger, who expressed her gratitude to each long-serving member for their tireless efforts and dedication.

Burger also took the opportunity to reflect on the Hospice’s remarkable journey, saying, “On January 1 2025, we will be 12 years old. We have survived. We have made our mark in the Palliative Care world. Let us continue to do so.”

She acknowledged the invaluable support of the community, stating that this milestone would not have been possible without it.

As a leading provider of specialist palliative care, Stepping Stone is committed to delivering high-quality care to people of all ages experiencing life-threatening illnesses in the greater Alberton areas and surrounding communities.

As the year draws to a close, Stepping Stone is appealing for donations of preloved clothing and sellable second-hand furniture to support their mission.

By donating gently used items, individuals can contribute to the Hospice’s ability to provide exceptional care and support.

Those willing to donate can contact Stepping Stone on 010 442 5059 or via WhatsApp on 083 290 7562 to arrange for collection.

The Hospice is even offering to have a staff member assist with decluttering, making it easier for donors to contribute.
