3RC on a mission to empower South African learners

Learners had an opportunity to engage with various institutions, gaining valuable insights on different careers.

The Rocking Future Career Expos, hosted by 3RC, provide South African high school students with crucial career guidance, helping them explore educational and skills-based opportunities in a country facing high youth unemployment.

The expo visited Royal Alberton School on February 3, where Grade 12 learners engaged with institutions like Boston College, Rosebank College, iStudent, Cultural Care Au Pair, Fezamax, and Inscape to learn about various study programs.

The event concluded with a fun game of musical chairs, where the winner received a prize.

For 24 years, 3RC has been empowering students by connecting them with tertiary institutions.

In 2024, the expo visited 231 schools across Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Qqeberha, and KwaZulu-Natal, distributing over 29 423 copies of the Future Guide Magazine to inspire and educate matric learners.

“This journey was nothing short of spectacular. The level of engagement from students and educators exceeded our expectations. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, affirming the expo’s role in shaping future careers,” said Kay Cheytanov, founder of 3RC.

The 2025 career expo tour is currently underway, with stops planned in Johannesburg, Pretoria, the East Rand, Cape Town, and KwaZulu-Natal.

This year, 3RC is placing a special focus on trade careers.

Additionally, 3RC has launched the Success Starter Star initiative, encouraging schools to nominate outstanding Grade 11 learners in categories like entrepreneurship, performing arts, sport and tech innovation.

In April 2025, the top 20 nominees will receive bursaries and other prizes.

“We believe in celebrating young minds who show passion and dedication. These students are the future, and we want to recognise and support them on their journey,” said Cheytanov.

With a mission to equip students for the future, 3RC’s Rocking Future Career Expos continue to make a lasting impact on South African youth, guiding them toward successful and fulfilling careers.
