Brackendowns SAPS prepare youth to tackle crime
The Brackendowns SAPS recently hosted induction training for the Youth Crime Prevention Desk, equipping young people with the knowledge and tools to promote safety and combat crime.

The Brackendowns SAPS held induction training for the Youth Crime Prevention Desk on January 31.
The session explained the initiative’s purpose and objectives, highlighting the critical role of young people in promoting safety and crime prevention within their communities.
Renowned author, speaker and consultant Nosipho Hani led the discussion, outlining the Youth Crime Prevention Desk’s roles and responsibilities.
As the founder of Hani Youth Development, she dedicates herself to empowering young people in education, health and safety. She also owns the PCH Network and LearnStar, demonstrating her commitment to youth development.
The session focused on several key areas:
• Promoting safety awareness in the community through collaboration with law enforcement.
• Educating youth about the dangers of drug abuse and other harmful substances.
• Doing school visits and community awareness campaigns to engage and inform young people.
• Encouraging community involvement in crime prevention efforts.
The induction concluded positively, setting the stage for future collaborations between youth, law enforcement and the community.
