water donated to Chubby Chums to honor International Water Day

Sparrows Primary School in Randhart donated litres of water to celebrate International Water Day to Chubby Chums, an NPO dedicated to supporting orphaned and vulnerable children.

The primary school principal, Yolandi Probst, said they believe in the power of small acts of kindness that make a big difference.

“At Sparrows Primary, we believe in nurturing bright minds and compassionate hearts. Our water donation to Chubby Chums for International Water Day is a small gesture with a powerful message of teaching our learners the value of kindness, empathy and giving back to those in need. We are proud of our school community supporting such a worthy cause,” she expressed.

Chubby Chums project manager J van Rensburg was grateful for the donation from the school.

“A heartfelt thank you to everyone assisting our organisation at Chubby Chums. Water is as precious as a child’s smile and one of the most basic needs of our little ones,” he said.

How communities can help to save water:

• Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth

• Fix leaks

• Take a shorter shower

• Do not leave water running when washing dishes

• Water your garden early or late in the day.
