“We believe that early detection is the key to saving lives, and by making this service more accessible to the community, we are hoping to be able to spare as many women as possible,” said Jenna Axsel Creative Academy director.

Tanya Hanekom, operation manager for RDISA said that the partnership with Creative Academy can reach a broader audience and encourage more women to prioritize their breast health.

“Enforcing that early detection is key, the mammogram events are hosted from 08:00 to 17:00 on blood drive days, and our weekend availability is one Saturday per month. This also helps to maximise participation in both blood donation and mammogram screening. It makes healthcare more flexible for busy individuals,” she said.

Kamantha Pillay, donor relations practitioner from the SANBS expressed Creative Academy’s commitment to hosting a blood drive.

All smiles about being a blood donor and saving lives.
