Stepping Stone bids farewell to seasoned nurse

Stepping Stone Hospice bade farewell to Lorraine Tshabalala, a dedicated nurse and care worker who served for many years.

With mixed emotions, Stepping Stone Palliative Care Services bade farewell to nurse Lorraine Tshabalala.
Affectionately known as Lolo, she served there for over 12 years.

Tshabalala, who has a heart of gold, left the Hospice to embark on a new venture, and while thrilled for her new chapter, the staff feel a sense of loss because of her commitment and contribution. She was an integral part of Stepping Stone’s growth and success.

Her dedication and selflessness were a beacon of hope for patients and families. Her efforts to offer exceptional care and support earned her a special place in the hearts of many.

Sister Margi Bollman, a clinical manager, described Tshabalala as resilient and an example to her colleagues.
“I am happy she got this opportunity and that we were the people who helped develop her into the person she is today. We will always love and miss her. When I joined the institution, she cared for me and did that with everyone she worked with,” Bollman said.

Tshabalala’s angelic voice, warm smile and reassuring presence made a significant difference in the lives of countless individuals. As she bade farewell to her colleagues on May 14, she received flowers and a gift.

“We will miss her dearly, but we are also incredibly grateful for her invaluable contributions to our entity. As Lorraine begins this new chapter in her journey, we wish her all the best, knowing she will continue to make a positive impact wherever she goes. Go well, my precious Lolo. Thank you for your commitment, love and dedication over the last 12 years. Remember us as we will remember you,” said Tersia Burger, the Stepping Stone Hospice founder and CEO.
