Planned maintenance on water pipes at Alberton’s Reading Golf Course

Scheduled operations on July 10 and 11 will involve low-impact blasting with no expected disruption to nearby residents or roads.

Reading Golf Course in Alberton is scheduled for planned maintenance on its water pipes this week.

The operations, which will include controlled blasting, are set to take place on Thursday, July 10 and Friday, July 11, between 12:00 and 15:00, at the club located at 40 Fore Street, New Redruth, opposite the N12 highway.

In a statement, the club confirmed the activity will not affect nearby residents or road users.

“We hereby notify you regarding blasting that will take place at Alberton, N12 highway (Reading Golf Course). These blasts are part of maintenance operations on the golf course’s water pipes. Nobody will be affected as controlled blasting takes place. Compacted sand will be put on all blast areas, which will result in little to no sounds of blasts,” the club stated.

The public is advised that this is a routine, low-impact operation and no disruptions are anticipated.
