Career Day sparks excitement at Arabella Nursery School
Arabella Nursery School hosted a lively Career Day, where children explored different professions, enjoyed interactive demonstrations from CPS Security and ER paramedics, and learnt valuable lessons about safety, teamwork, and community service.
Arabella Nursery School hosted a vibrant career day on August 18, giving young learners the opportunity to explore different professions and understand the vital roles people play in the community.
School owner Gail Hogbin explained that the purpose of the initiative is to introduce children to various professions. It aims to inspire curiosity and provide insights into potential career paths.
The day featured interactive sessions designed to spark imagination and broaden perspectives.
Hogbin said events like these not only ignite children’s interest in future possibilities but also build social skills, teamwork, and an appreciation for community service.
One highlight was the interactive demonstration by emergency responders.

Children could try on equipment and explore basic tools, an activity that quickly captured their attention.
The visit from CPS Security and the ER paramedics drew excitement as the children eagerly examined the vehicles, asked questions, and interacted with the professionals.
“These careers, such as firefighters, police officers, and paramedics, are often very visible in the community and tend to resonate strongly with young children,” Hogbin noted.
The responders also shared important lessons with the learners, including safety tips, how to call for help in an emergency, and basic first aid principles.
They further encouraged the children to help others and be responsible citizens.
By the end of the day, the learners left inspired and enthusiastic, with many already imagining themselves in uniforms and community service roles.
