Org Meyer Voortrekkers dare South Africans to ‘Paint it Pink’ for breast cancer awareness
Through the Breast Cancer Dare and Boesemvriendinne project, the group promotes action, conversation, and compassion - from knitting soft prostheses to bold pink challenges that inspire hope and raise awareness.
This month is not just about pink ribbons, it’s about real action that brings comfort, dignity, and hope. Wherever you are, be the hand that reaches, the voice that teaches, and the heart that changes lives.
Through the Breast Cancer Dare, Org Meyer Voortrekkers proudly supports Helpende Hand Boesemvriendinne.
This special project uses the love of knitting and crocheting to make a practical difference. Boesemvriendinne provides soft, hand-made breast prostheses to women who have lost their breasts to cancer and cannot afford silicone prostheses or reconstruction.
The goals are simple yet powerful:
• To gift women in need with soft, hand-crafted breast prostheses
• To raise awareness of breast cancer
• To involve communities, especially our elderly, in meaningful, supportive handiwork

Then there is the dare to go pink. Are you ready to be dared?
Anybody can wear a pink ribbon. But when you paint it pink, wear it boldly, or take on a dare that turns heads, you do more than just show support, you start a conversation.
When a man steps up and wears a pink bra, paints his beard pink, or takes on a challenge that feels a little uncomfortable, it makes people ask questions. And that’s the point. It sparks conversations about breast health, early detection, and the reality that breast cancer touches families, not just women.
This is what Org Meyer Voortrekkers’ Painted Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign is all about.
The Painted Pink Dare isn’t about how you look, it’s about what you stand for. It’s about showing that courage comes in many forms, whether it’s fighting cancer, surviving it, or standing in solidarity with those who do.
So why join? Because sometimes the boldest act is the one that gets people talking. And the more we talk, the more lives we can save.
Paint it Pink! You have the power to dare anybody to paint it pink.
