Sparrows Primary marks Nelson Mandela Day with 67 days of giving

Learners, parents, and staff joined hands to make a real community impact.

In celebration of Nelson Mandela Day, Sparrows Primary School embarked on a 67-day initiative to collect non-perishable food items, honouring the late leader’s legacy of service and compassion.

Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of learners, parents, and staff, the school gathered a remarkable contribution, which was donated to Stepping Stone Hospice on September 30.

“This organisation plays a vital role in our community, providing care and support to those in need, and we are proud to partner with them in making a difference,” said Sparrows Primary School in a statement. The school also extended heartfelt gratitude to every family who participated in the initiative.

Through these efforts, the Sparrows Primary community continues to embrace Madiba’s enduring message: “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others.”
