Hoërskool Alberton Allies roll up their sleeves to make 76-year-old school shine

Learners, teachers and the principal rolled up their sleeves ahead of examinations, showing their school pride and commitment to keeping the historic school clean and welcoming.

The spirit of teamwork and school pride was recently on full display at Hoërskool Alberton, as the school community put their hands to work to give their 76-year-old home a fresh shine ahead of the examinations.

With the last school day before exams marking the occasion, the Allies showed that keeping their school clean and welcoming was a shared responsibility.

From the principal and teachers to learners, everyone joined forces in a school-wide cleaning effort to prepare the grounds and facilities for the examinations, which began on Monday.

A shared responsibility

The initiative was about more than simply picking up cleaning equipment. It allowed generations of Allies to show their appreciation for a school that has been part of their lives and to take pride in the environment they share.

According to the school, the response demonstrated what can be achieved when everyone gets involved.
“Our beautiful school has been home to generations of Allies, and we take pride in keeping it clean, welcoming, and ready for the next generation,” the school said.

Through teamwork, commitment, and plenty of Allie spirit, learners and staff demonstrated that even a simple act of lending a hand can make a meaningful difference.

Community pride

The school also thanked everyone who participated.

The message behind the initiative was clear: building a school community does not only happen in classrooms.

It also happens when people take responsibility, work together and care for the place they call home.
As the school proudly put it: “Together we clean, together we shine, together we are Allies!”
