Stepping Stone Hospice postpones Tree of Lights due to waterlogged grounds

The grounds have been deemed unsafe after heavy rains, and a new date will be communicated once finalised.

Stepping Stone Hospice has postponed its much-loved Tree of Lights Ceremony, which was scheduled to take place this evening, November 28.

According to Tersia Burger, CEO of Stepping Stone Hospice, the recent heavy rains have left the grounds waterlogged and unsafe for the gathering.

“We have made the difficult decision to postpone our Tree of Lights event that was scheduled for this evening,” she said. “The recent heavy rains have left the ground waterlogged and unsafe for our gathering. The safety and comfort of our community is our top priority.

“We sincerely apologise to everyone who has been inconvenienced by this change. We know many of you were looking forward to this special evening of remembrance and community.”

Tersia added that they will find a suitable sunny day for the event and announce the new date soon.

“Our Tree of Lights celebration will be all the more meaningful when we can gather safely together. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”

A new date will be communicated once arrangements have been finalised.
