A water outage looms for areas around Alberton due to Rand Water’s planned maintenance.

“Maintenance on the Zuikerbosch plant will affect a number of areas in Ekurhuleni,” said the municipality in a statement.

The affected areas include Germiston, Eden Park, Greenfields, Sky City and Vosloorus. Water tankers will service these areas during the outage.

Residents are urged to store water for domestic use and use it sparingly. Businesses and institutions should maintain on–site storage equivalent to their daily demand or at least up to 36 hours.

Customers requiring specific water pressure are advised to maintain equipment or installations to increase pressure and flow where necessary.
