SACDG was founded as an NPO in 1976 to promote the growth of the cake-decorating profession by hosting events and demonstrations nationwide.
The South African Cake Decoration Guild (SACDG) held an Easter Egg Workshop at Alberton Retirement Village on March 3.
The workshop aimed to inspire creativity and help people turn their passion for baking into small business opportunities.
The SACDG will host its 50th annual celebration from July 10 to 12 to celebrate 50 years of teaching cake decorating and helping people learn and grow their skills.

SACDG was founded as an NPO in 1976 to promote the growth of the cake-decorating profession by hosting events and demonstrations nationwide.

Deon Swarts, the national president, said, “It is important for everyone to share skills because when someone learns a skill, they can use it to start small businesses and create opportunities for themselves.”

The Alberton Gladiola Botha Branch hosts these workshops or demonstration days every first Tuesday of the month.

They host workshops with themed sessions for Valentine’s Day and Easter to teach skills to anyone interested in starting a small business.

Malibongwe Khoza explained that he joined this workshop because of his love for creativity and baking. The workshop gives him a chance to improve his skills and follow his passion for baking.

To secure your space for the demonstration days, residents are advised to contact the SACDG Alberton branch.
Payment will be required to ensure a place.
