7 pupils injured in Rondelbult crash involving scholar transport

Several pupils were injured after a scholar transport collided with a light delivery vehicle in Rondelbult, with authorities investigating the cause of the crash.

Several learners were injured when a light delivery vehicle collided with a scholar transport at the intersection of the R554 and Heidelberg Road in Rondelbult on March 10.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, where multiple learners were found to have sustained injuries following the collision.

According to authorities, no fatalities were reported.

The City of Ekurhuleni Emergency Management Services treated the injured at the scene before transporting them to nearby hospitals for further medical attention.

Officials confirmed that the injuries sustained range from minor to serious.

The crash caused a temporary disruption in the area while emergency personnel attended to the victims and secured the scene.

The incident has since been handed over to the EMPD, which has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
