Emergency water interruption affects Albertsdal and surrounding areas

Emergency water interruption hits Albertsdal and nearby areas, with supply expected to be restored by 17:30 as repair work continues.

Residents in several parts of Alberton are experiencing an emergency water supply interruption, with multiple neighbourhoods impacted by ongoing infrastructure work.

The affected areas include Albertsdal Extensions 30, 31, 32, 34, 42 and 43, as well as Alrode, Alrode South, Leopard Rest and Thinasonke.

According to Ekurhuleni, the disruption is due to the installation of a 315mm T-piece connection at JG Strijdom Road. The work forms part of efforts to improve and maintain the local water distribution network.

Water supply is expected to be restored by approximately 17:30, although residents are advised that delays may occur depending on the progress of the repairs.

In the interim, a water tanker has been stationed at JG Strijdom Road to provide relief to affected residents.

Authorities have urged the public to use water sparingly once the supply is restored as the system stabilises.
