Easter compassion uplifts Stepping Stone Hospice patients and staff

In a touching show of generosity at the hospice, a local women’s group delivered thoughtful donations and emotional encouragement, continuing a meaningful tradition of care that has become a source of strength for patients, families and caregivers alike.

As the Easter season approaches, a time traditionally associated with hope, renewal and compassion, Stepping Stone Hospice was the recipient of a heartfelt act of generosity that left a lasting impression on both staff and patients.

The hospice recently welcomed members of the Doxa Deo Cherish Group, a women’s ministry from Doxa Deo Meyersdal, whose visit brought not only practical support but also a strong sense of community care.

The Hospice CEO and founder, Tersia Burger, said that from thoughtfully prepared treats for staff to generous grocery donations aimed at supporting patients and their families, every aspect of the visit reflected careful consideration and kindness.

“The contributions provided meaningful relief to those working tirelessly at the hospice, as well as to families navigating challenging circumstances,” she said.

However, it was not only the tangible donations that stood out.

According to the Hospice, the group’s continued presence and unwavering support have become a source of encouragement over time.

“Their visits have consistently brought warmth and reassurance, reinforcing a sense of dignity and compassion within the care environment,” Tersia noted.

Stepping Stone Hospice expressed deep appreciation for the group’s ongoing commitment, noting that the sincerity and compassion shown by the women of Doxa Deo Cherish Group have made a profound impact.
