Donate pre-loved matric farewell dresses to help girls shine

The Salvation Foundation is calling on the community to donate gently worn matric farewell dresses, shoes and accessories, giving less fortunate girls the chance to attend their matric dance with confidence and pride.

Salvation Foundation is calling on the community to donate pre-loved matric farewell dresses to support girls who may not otherwise be able to afford one for their special night.

Founder of Salvation Foundation, Ryan Ellapan says the initiative is about more than just clothing. It is about restoring confidence, dignity and a sense of belonging.

“For many girls, attending their matric ball is a dream, but the cost of a dress can be out of reach. By passing on a dress you once cherished, you give someone else the chance to feel confident, beautiful, and included,” he said.
Ellapan added that each donation carries emotional value beyond its fabric.

“It’s more than just a donation, it’s sharing joy, creating memories, and empowering young women to celebrate an important milestone with pride.”

The foundation is accepting new and gently worn dresses, along with shoes and accessories. Donations of all sizes are welcome to ensure that every girl has a chance to shine.

Community members who would like to contribute can drop off items at 26 Moorat Drive in Brackendowns or contact Ryan Ellapan directly on 072 822 6106.
