Grade Eight learners took the challenge a step further as Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High School latest TuesBlue focuses on 'gees', identity and building excitement for their first home game.

Hoërskool Marais Viljoen continues to build on its growing TuesBlue tradition, with the latest session on March 17 placing the spotlight firmly on school spirit and learner identity.

While the previous TuesBlue event centred on high-energy activities like dance-offs and spirited performances, this week’s gathering took a more reflective and inclusive turn, especially for the school’s newest learners.

Grade Eights played a key role in the day, embracing the initiative and sharing what makes HS Viljoen so meaningful to them.

From strong friendships and supportive teachers to the wide range of opportunities available, their voices highlighted the sense of belonging that the school continues to foster.

The introduction of the 2026 BlueBoys added to the excitement, marking an important moment in the school’s spirit-building calendar.

With a clear focus on fun and spirit, learners were encouraged not only to participate but to understand their role in shaping the school’s culture. The latest TuesBlue leaned more into originality, creativity and fun.

The timing of the event is also significant, forming part of the build-up to the school’s first home sports fixture this weekend against Wesvalia. Where the previous TuesBlue helped ignite excitement for the season, the latest edition appears to have deepened it, grounding the hype in a strong sense of unity.

For Alberton residents, the continued success of TuesBlue is another example of how local schools are investing in more than academics. At HS Viljoen, the focus remains on developing well-rounded learners who carry their school pride both on and off the field.

With momentum building and ‘gees’ running high, all eyes will be on the weekend’s home game, where that spirit will no doubt be on full display.
