Young scientists put Royal Schools Sky City in the spotlight
Royal Schools Sky City learners have earned gold, silver and bronze medals at the Ekurhuleni Regional Science Fair
Learners from Royal Schools Sky City in Alberton made their school proud with an impressive performance at the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists, progressing from the district level to the Ekurhuleni Regional Science Fair.
Their journey continued on May 30, when they participated in the District Eskom Expo in Daveyton.
Their hard work and commitment paid off, with all participating learners successfully progressing to the regional event.
Hoërskool Jeugland in Kempton Park hosted the regional science fair on August 15, where learners presented their projects, interacted with fellow young scientists, and demonstrated their knowledge of science and innovation.
Medal haul highlights young scientific talent
The school achieved an impressive medal haul at the regional level.
Marema Mamabolo secured a gold medal, while Ntsako Mathebula earned a silver medal.
Leano Nkabinde, Nhlanhla Mofokeng and Neo Mohapeloa were awarded bronze medals.
For the school, the success also highlights the importance of exposing learners to science, technology and innovation. It encourages them to develop their interests from an early age.
Participation in the expo provided learners with more than an opportunity to compete.
It allowed them to engage with other young scientists, share ideas and gain experience in presenting and developing scientific projects.
