Government buildings don’t save electricity

Eskom has given a warning to all consumers to use electricity sparingly, but what surprises me is that government buildings and big business buildings are still leaving their lights on overnight.

One typical example is the Alberton SARS building on the left side of the N12 South highway, just before the Reading Interchange. The lights of this building are burning day and night; even the lights of the parking garage in the basement are never switched off!

Nobody seems to care! I have tried on several occasions to contact them telephonically, but can never speak to the right person.

In my opinion these companies should be fined.
