Alberton Wrestling Club warriors bag medals in recent triumph
Having wrestled in various divisions, the Alberton Wrestling Club wrestlers were commended for their recent resounding accomplishment.
Congratulations to the Alberton Wrestling Club’s wrestlers who participated in the Greco-Roman and Veterans Nationals in Pretoria on April 29.
The tournament saw at least six wrestlers dominate to secure well-deserved wins when they competed in various divisions.
It was a long, hard day but a resounding victory for the wrestlers as they showed off their capabilities.
In the Masters class (wrestlers 25 and older), coach Richard Addinall secured first place, and Burger van Baalen secured fourth. In the Greco-Roman class, Edward Lessing and Shaun de Kock secured first places, while Jeandre Watson secured second and Arico Fourie third.
Addinall said: “Two of our guys are yet to compete at the African Championships, and for them, this was a good stepping stone to get ready and know where they are. We also had two other wrestlers who competed, and it was the first time for them to compete in the nationals, and they did very well.”
