Marais Viljoen girls show fielding finesse as hockey team rises

School produces an impressive hockey display.

The Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High School hockey girls showcased their skills and dedication in thrilling league matches against Hoërskool Oosterlig on May 21.

The teams delivered impressive performances, with notable wins across various age groups.

The U14A team secured a 1-0 win, while the U14B team dominated by a 6-0 victory. The U15A and U15B teams also excelled, winning 5-0 and 2-0, respectively.

The senior girls followed suit, with the U16B team winning 3-0 and the second and first teams securing victories, with scores of 2-0 and 5-0, respectively.

Although the U16A team faced a tough loss of 2-3, their spirit remained unbroken.

The girls battle it out to win the ball.

Principal of Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High School, Dr Johlet Krause expressed her pride in the school’s performance.

“Congratulations to the girls on their outstanding performances, and special appreciation to their coaches and team supporters. The Marais Viljoen hockey programme continues to inspire with an emphasis on teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship,” said Krause.
