Bassonia JKA and Alberton JKA senior instructor Karyn Smith has been appointed to the senior board of the South African JKA (SAJKA), alongside Dumisani Ncube.
She was awarded this honour following her successful grading to Rokudan (6th Dan) last year under Sensei Ogura and Sensei Okuma from JKA in Japan.
She officially received her senior board wooden plaque at the SA JKA Gauteng Championships earlier this year.
This appointment recognises her dedication to the growth and preservation of traditional karate in South Africa.
