In a gripping school cricket encounter, Hoërskool Dinamika’s first team beat EG Jansen’s first team by 22 runs in an intense clash that had spectators on the edge of their seats.
Dinamika set the tone early with a commanding batting performance, posting a formidable 255/9 in their allotted 50 overs.
Leading the charge was Mohammed Valli, who fell agonisingly short of a century, scoring a scintillating 99 off 91 deliveries. His innings was packed with class and confidence, setting the foundation for a big total.
Branko Steenberg played the perfect anchor, contributing a composed 79 off 114 balls, holding the innings together during crucial middle overs.
Late fireworks came from Jayden Smith, who smashed 11 off just five balls to give Dinamika a final push past the 250 mark.
On the bowling front, Dinamika delivered a disciplined and determined performance.
Smith again made his presence felt, claiming 3/49 in eight overs, proving his value as a dependable all-rounder.
The standout spell, however, came from Shelden Subke, who dismantled the EG Jansen tail with precision and control, finishing with 3/9 in just two-point-one overs.
His efforts sealed the game at a critical moment when EG Jansen were still in the chase.
Adding to his batting heroics, Branko also delivered with the ball, taking 2/25 in six overs, earning him the player of the match award for his brilliant all-round performance.
Despite a spirited chase, EG Jansen were bowled out for 233 in 41.1 overs, falling 22 runs short of the target.
