WATCH: Eden Park Boxing Club gears up for big fights this month

Club chairman Sydney Kok is confident his fighters will deliver strong performances at the Ekurhuleni tournament, in Tsakane. The Alberton Record was invited to cover the club’s training session in Eden Park.

The Eden Park Boxing Club is gearing up for two big fight tournaments scheduled for this month in Tsakane and Springs, Ekurhuleni.

The Ekurhuleni Youth and Elite Championships will see fighters compete for the title of top fight club.

The club’s fighters displayed incredible fighting strength, elite foot movement, and excellent guarding skills.

During the training session, club chairman Sydney Kok expressed confidence in his fighters, saying he believes they will deliver strong performances at the Ekurhuleni tournament.

“We are training them really hard. The level of competition out there demands that we ensure that our fighters are thoroughly prepared for both February fights. I am, however, confident that they will put on great shows,” said Kok. Entries for the tournament closed on January 30.

Tournament details:

February 14 in Tsakane. Venue yet to be confirmed.

February 28 in Springs. Venue: Bert Collins Boxing Club.

There are two categories for participation in the tournaments. Youth: those born between 2008 and 2009.

Elite: those born between 1986 and 2007. Fighters will be competing for green, bronze, silver, gold, among other prizes.
