Alberton’s sporting community is invited to rally behind as local hockey player Syntyche Saulene Durman prepares to compete in the SA Masters Inter-Provincial Tournament (IPT) in the masters ladies division.

Scheduled for February 19 to 23 in Durban, the SA Masters IPT is one of the country’s most respected annual hockey tournaments, attracting over 70 teams and more than 1 100 players from across South Africa and neighbouring countries.

Known for its high standard of competition, the tournament regularly features former international players, making selection a significant achievement.

For Durman, participation in the tournament represents both a personal milestone and a chance to represent women’s hockey on a national stage.

However, like many amateur and masters athletes, the opportunity comes with considerable financial challenges. Costs associated with the tournament include accommodation, travel, affiliation fees, tournament activities, and related expenses.

“These costs add up quickly,” said Durman.

“Any form of sponsorship or donation would make a meaningful difference and allow me to focus fully on competing and representing my team to the best of my ability.”
