“We want them working together in a structural and defensive shape, and to make sure they understand how to shift and cover space within the pitch,” said Brogan Sanders, DBK’s head of football.

DBK is actively looking for fresh and new talent for their senior and junior football squads. This year, the club wants to grow by recruiting new players.

“We have just obtained our league status, and we are very excited about that. That will allow us to broaden our horizon and welcome players with different talents and backgrounds. This club is a platform for players from surrounding areas,” said DBK director Kameron Chetty.

The club’s directors say they want to recruit players from areas in Johannesburg south like Alberton, and surrounding areas, including Katlehong, Thokoza, Palm Ridge, and neighbouring settlements.

The U13 squad did not allow the drizzle to stop them from running on the pitch to hone their skills.

“We are paving the way for our future stars. We do not want them to just stop at an amateur level. We have plans for them to play professionally, although not everyone will reach such a level.

“We are hoping to cultivate future stars. We hope DBK will make waves across South Africa,” said DBK director Daniel Cardoso.
