Winners don’t quit
“I moved to South Africa because of how my music was viewed in this country."

South African-based Nigerian artist and an actor Twinchild (40) has always been passionate about music.
Born Edozie Emmanuel Ugwunze Twinchild, he started writing songs and singing in his teenage years, exploring various genres of music from gospel, hip-hop, to Afro-beats, pop, rock, highlife, and gyration.
“I was inspired by my brother who was a performer and musician at heart. I then started making music and broke into the scene in 2015 in Nigeria with my hit single called Nkem Boo,” he said.
“I performed the song for the first time at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) in 2003 for the Make We Go project and the reaction was massive with a lot of reaches here in South Africa where a number of artists wanted to collaborate with me.”
Twinchild then decided to move to South Africa to further his musical career.
“I moved to South Africa because of how my music was viewed and received in this country. “The requests from many who wanted to work with me lead to the decision to move this side and be close to the work, and work with the artists.”
He admits that the industry has never been easy for him and that he even reached a point where he thought of giving up. But his strong belief that winners do not quit kept him going.
“My wife pushed me to where I am right now and she is the one who persuaded me not to give up,” he said.
When he writes the song will depend on his mood and he also draws inspiration from the people whom he comes across in the industry. “I write what I feel is right with the purpose of bringing out positive messages across to inspire,” said Twinchild.
His dream is to collaborate with well-known musicians in the industry like Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Wizkid, and other African superstars. He is renowned for his great lyrical, rhyming, and vocal power that embodied poetic lines.
Twinchild Edozie told the CHRONICLE that he released his first studio album titled New Dawn in 2018.
The album, which comprised 15 tracks recorded great success in Nigeria, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other parts of the world.
“In 2020 I released another hit single titled Gimme Your Love‘, which I am currently promoting while working on my second studio album which will likely be released by the end of this year. “Being an upcoming artist is hard in our country. You have to be recognised to be respected in the industry. I wish there was a platform given to artists who are trying to showcase their craft to the world.
“I, on the other hand, believe in my craft and I know that one day I will see my breakthrough in the industry,” he said.
His music is on all digital platforms iTunes, Deezer, Spotify, and many more.
