WATCH: NPO sends out donations to over 1 000 families affected by recent Alex fire

ALEXANDRA – Over 200 shacks burned down after a recent fire in Alexandra.


Over 200 shacks caught fire in Alexandra on 2 July, resulting in over 1 000 families losing their homes according to The Angel Network.

The Angel Network is a non-profit organisation who aims to help those in need. The organisation put out an appeal on social media urging the public to donate to the affected families and have received a great response from the public. Founder of the Angel Network Glynne Wolman said, “After about two hours this morning (3 July) we had received over 2 500 blankets, hundreds of kilograms of food, thousands of black bags of clothes and linen as well as crockery, cutlery and household items.”

The organisation is expected to deliver the donations in Alex later this evening (3 July).
