Alex Renewal Project stopped the rebuilding of gogo’s house

ALEXANDRA - Ward 105 Councillor Joyce Ngwenya has clarified an article that appeared in Alex News weekending 11 April 2014 regarding the rebuilding of gogo Nomgqibelo Mkhwanazi's smashed house.

Ward 105 councillor Joyce Ngwenya has disputed details in the article, Gogo’s smashed house is rebuilt, week ending 11 April 2014, regarding the rebuilding of gogo Nomgqibelo Mkhwanazi’s damaged house.

In the article, Alex News claimed Ngwenya had ordered the owner of the vehicle not to go ahead with repairs to the house. She has pointed out that in fact she had looked for and ordered the motorist to fix the damage caused by his motor vehicle, although he was not the person driving it at the time.

The owner of the vehiclet, Nqobile Hlabangane purchased building material and had it delivered to the site, but officials of the Alexandra Renewal Project (ARP) had ordered him not to go ahead.

“I am perturbed now by reports that I ordered the culprit to stop rebuilding the house. It is actually the ARP that did so. I even asked them why they had stopped the rebuilding process as they had refused to rebuild the house,” Ngwenya pointed out.

The error is greatly regretted and Alex News would like to apologise to Ngwenya for that oversight.
