In one sentence, who are you?
I am Thapelo Mabusela, an ActionSA Ward 107 councillor candidate who believes leadership is not about occupying a position, it is about standing with residents, solving problems and delivering a better quality of life for every person in Alexandra.

What are the biggest issues facing your ward currently?
The people of Ward 107 are tired of being asked to accept broken promises as normal. Our biggest challenges include unreliable basic services, water and sanitation problems, unsafe electricity and illegal connections, illegal dumping, crime and drugs, unemployment and the poor maintenance of community infrastructure.

What practical solutions would you prioritise should you be named councillor of your ward?
My approach will be visible leadership, measurable delivery and accountability. I will establish a strong system of community engagement where residents can report service-delivery problems and receive feedback on what is being done to resolve them. I will work directly with the relevant municipal departments and continuously follow up until issues are addressed.

My priorities will include clean water and proper sanitation, safe and legal electricity, a decisive campaign against illegal dumping, stronger action against drugs and crime, and better maintenance of public infrastructure, but service delivery alone is not enough. We must also create pathways to opportunity. I will advocate for skills development, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship and support for local businesses, especially for young people.

What is one misconception about you or your party that you would clarify?
There is a misconception that ActionSA is simply another political party making promises during election season. That is not the leadership I stand for. ActionSA believes that government must be accountable to the people it serves. We believe residents deserve competent leadership, clean governance, safer communities, and reliable services.
