Waahida Tolbert-Mbatha, the co-founder of Kgololo Academy, a world-class school set to open its doors in Alexandra next year, said she was looking forward to the opening day.
“The last few months have been quite a challenge as we work to bring this dream to life, however as a team we have persevered and are excited about building a firm foundation for the children of Alexandra,” said Tobert-Mbatha, who co-founded the school with her husband, Thulani.
“The roadblocks and challenges have strengthened our resolve and will be a part of the story that we will tell at our grand opening next year. I cannot wait for that day.”
She said the school would begin recruiting students in May. “We will host a series of information sessions in Alexandra and will share more details closer to the date,” she said.
“We have already embarked on a search for founding teachers for the school, who together with the support of the community will assist students in setting their dreams free.”
She thanked everybody in the community of Alexandra and beyond for “keeping us in your prayers and for the positive vibes, and financial support over the past two years. We look forward to continuing this journey with you for many more years to come and we appreciate you for sticking with us”.
