Thieves smash Kempton Park man’s car windscreen and steal R12 000

ALEXANDRA - Thieves in Alexandra smashed the windscreen of a Kempton Park man's car and stole money amounting to R12 000.

Thieves in Alexandra smashed the windscreen of a Kempton Park man’s car and stole R12 000 cash.

According to Alex police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, the 39-year-old man had parked his car at about 10.30pm at a house in 5th Avenue with all its windows and doors closed and locked.

When he wanted to leave for Kempton Park at about 12.30am, he was surprised to discover that his windscreen had been smashed. He immediately rushed to check on the money that he had left in the car.

He reported the theft at Alexandra Police Station. Maphakela said police later arrived on the scene and dusted the car for fingerprints. No arrests have been made.
